When it comes to accommodation, I don't like wasting money on expensive hotel rooms I only use to sleep in. On the other hand, I wouldn't describe myself as a no-matter-what-it-takes budget traveler either. Traveling as a couple, we like to get a double room, which most of the times eliminates the cheapest options. In 'expensive' countries, we will try to find the cheapest double rooms and don't really care how nice they look. In 'cheaper' countries, where you can often find a nice hotel room for only $40 or 50, we usually don't look any further to try and find a cheaper option.
