Mexico City, 10 pm on a hot summer evening. My boyfriend and I had spent a long and exhausting day driving our rental car and had so many traffic jams on the way that we arrived too late at one of the sites we really wanted to visit. We were starting to feel relieved as we approached the rental office, happy to know we’d soon be back at our hostel for a good night’s sleep.
